ROOK’S RECAP 5.0
Oh Joey, If you’re Hurting so am I.
-Concrete Blonde
THE LEAD ITEM: TWO WORDS: Quarterback.
Controversy. Joey Harrington may be hurting after a
loss in his Dolphin Debut, but at least he’s not hurting physically like Daunte.
It was clear to see that this team clicked with Joey in control. He had lots of
time in the pocket, a consistent pass percentage throughout the game, and he
moved the chains. Let’s face it, Culpepper is just not ready to play football
right now. I blamed the O line a few weeks ago but the O line was stellar
against New England. Joey will get the start next week and I think we will see
an even better game with less INT’s. I hope Joey starts every game for the rest
of the season. But, sigh, it could be too little too late as the fins are 1-4.
Not even Dan the Man could dig them out of this hole. THE GAME. I think the Dolphins showed a lot of
heart in this game. After a dismal first quarter, they made it close at the half
and kept it close for most of the third quarter. The fourth quarter was pretty
much a write off though. If you are a Dolphin’s fan, you have to be impressed
with Harrington. Except for a couple mistakes, the game might have gone a
different way. Turnovers were key in this one. Botched field goals and blocked
punts just made Miami look stupid. The pass interference call was the nail in
the coffin in this one. And that Chambers catch out of bounds was a catch!! I
gotta say Wes Welker was awesome in this game. The guy took a pounding but kept
catching the ball. Bottom line is Miami beat themselves as the Pats got 17 or
their 20 points off Miami Turnovers.
FINAL
SCORE: NEW ENGLAND 20 MIAMI 10 Cheers to:
Randy McMichael. Finally caught a few passes. And the Dolphin D…awesome!! Jeers
to: Nick Saban. You should have thrown the flag on the Chambers
catch. Pump fakes won’t work in the NFL Ally’s
All-star dolphin: Wes Welker. Without a doubt.

THE GAME: Game aired on CBS. Commentators were
Greg Gumbel and Dan Deirdorf. Pretty good job. Better than Buffalo game.
JUNGLE JIM’S PLAY
OF THE GAME Whew...some decent plays, but nothing
spectacular...maybe the forced fumble by Yeramiah Bell on the punt return.
Should have been the turning point but the offense couldn't get any points from
a short field.
